It’s always been my intent to develop Pistol River Creative into a loosely assembled multi-artist vehicle instead of the Dylan Toomey brand. I’m proud to announce PRC has grown with the addition of two fantastic artists. Chris Orr, Jacqueline Smith and I are doing a group show from October through November at Good Neighbor Pizza. The opening on October 2nd will feature a humble party with the three of us on hand to discuss Art and Inspiration. Join us for some great food, cold beer and stick around afterwards for an after party at the Toomey house just down the street.

Pop Art Series – now available in Prints

The pop art series’ always seem to generate a lot of interest, but the pieces themselves are priced out of most peoples price ranges. Now, in an effort to generate a bit of cash flow and get my art into more peoples lives, I’m offering limited edition prints. Currently I have Bob Dylan, Slash, Steven Tyler and Bob Marley available in print form. While previews of the first three are seen below, the Bob Marley original is awaiting an unveiling party and previews will not be available until Mid-September.

The Alchemist is an independent weekly publication that promotes the minds and art of the residents of Corvallis. I have been fortunate enough to be featured on two different covers for my murals in corvallis and was recently asked to paint a newstand for the budding publication.

This new graff piece is a re-paint of a mixed media canvas I recently showed at the last Bombs Away show. I finally found some success with the massive 600 ML gold can. It’s a high pressure can which complicates painting on a small scale but working with the bling was the real challenge for me.

My last Art show at Bombs Away Cafe yielded a nice surprise. I was contacted by Jay Zantos, a transplated graff artist from SoCal attending OSU. He really liked some of my work and we started emailing back and forth. Next thing I know we paint this huge mural down in Corvallis on the day I picked up the show from Bombs Away.

Jay was the idea man behind this piece, he was inspired by the trains waking up the city of corvallis early in the morning. A lot of people are angered by the morning wake up calls, however I was on Jay’s page big time. I lived on 8th and Washington my last year of college with a balcony that I could clearly see the train from. Everytime I heard the train I’d rush out to check out the graffiti. It wasn’t long before I found my new neighbors doing the same thing as they were graff writers as well. I have heard trains called “rolling art galleries” If only everyone was on that page and painting them was not illegal but encouraged…

We got a lot of people involved in this mural. The Alchemist sent out someone for an interview and a photographer to cover the session. Check out the interview in this issue, and we made the cover of this issue. For an absurd amount of pictures check out Will’s flickr.

I really like this new graff piece, I have Ironlak dialed in with the right tips and I would say this is my cleanest most polished piece to date. You can find this piece displayed on the corner of NE 30th & Emerson (just behind the Cup & Saucer) starting next week.

Coffee Table Graffiti

I got hooked up with Solidcore‘s Bill Fritz when his lovely lady purchased Whiskey Haze out of Branch Whiskey Bar. We then discussed the idea of laser etching a graffiti design into a limited edition coffee table set. Here is my first crack at the design and a concept of a final project.

Revolution Parkour Mural

This parkour facility in Beaverton has so many open walls, this “small” mural is just a start to our work at this location. Painted with two new cats DeAngelo Raines with Art not Crime and his buddy “Fayah Cat” Chris. With this collab mural Delo painted the Revolution, I painted the Parkour, Chris painted the parkour siloutte and we worked together for the background.
