I just recently hung a diverse show with Pop, Abstract and Graffiti work at Vita Cafe on Alberta. Pretty nice little cafe that serves mostly vegan and vegetarian food and works hard to serve organic and local ingredients. This show will hang all month.

Alberta Art Hop Live Graffiti Paint

This post represents how busy I have been lately. This live paint exhibit took place in May, the piece was hung over on Killingsworth and 30th for the month of June and only now is it making it to the Blog. I collaborated with Art Not Crime’s DeAngelo Raines – proud new father and coordinator of the live paint exhibition on Alberta. I painted the STEEZ lettering, and he did his trademark Ghetto Blaster. I forget the other artists names on the second piece, but I sure do like it!

The Alchemist Newstand

The Alchemist is an independent weekly publication that promotes the minds and art of the residents of Corvallis. I have been fortunate enough to be featured on two different covers for my murals in corvallis and was recently asked to paint a newstand for the budding publication.

This new graff piece is a re-paint of a mixed media canvas I recently showed at the last Bombs Away show. I finally found some success with the massive 600 ML gold can. It’s a high pressure can which complicates painting on a small scale but working with the bling was the real challenge for me.

My last Art show at Bombs Away Cafe yielded a nice surprise. I was contacted by Jay Zantos, a transplated graff artist from SoCal attending OSU. He really liked some of my work and we started emailing back and forth. Next thing I know we paint this huge mural down in Corvallis on the day I picked up the show from Bombs Away.

Jay was the idea man behind this piece, he was inspired by the trains waking up the city of corvallis early in the morning. A lot of people are angered by the morning wake up calls, however I was on Jay’s page big time. I lived on 8th and Washington my last year of college with a balcony that I could clearly see the train from. Everytime I heard the train I’d rush out to check out the graffiti. It wasn’t long before I found my new neighbors doing the same thing as they were graff writers as well. I have heard trains called “rolling art galleries” If only everyone was on that page and painting them was not illegal but encouraged…

We got a lot of people involved in this mural. The Alchemist sent out someone for an interview and a photographer to cover the session. Check out the interview in this issue, and we made the cover of this issue. For an absurd amount of pictures check out Will’s flickr.

As an artist it’s hard to know when to stop working on a piece of art. This half wall I painted for a neighbor simply needed added work. Here was the first round of painting, and below are the pictures after final touch ups.

I really like this new graff piece, I have Ironlak dialed in with the right tips and I would say this is my cleanest most polished piece to date. You can find this piece displayed on the corner of NE 30th & Emerson (just behind the Cup & Saucer) starting next week.

Coffee Table Graffiti

I got hooked up with Solidcore’s Bill Fritz when his lovely lady purchased Whiskey Haze out of Branch Whiskey Bar. We then discussed the idea of laser etching a graffiti design into a limited edition coffee table set. Here is my first crack at the design and a concept of a final project.
