Tools – New Looped Track

I haven’t loaded a track for quite a while, I have been fairly discouraged by my working on the road/lack of playing time as well as by my crap equipment.  Regardless I recorded a pretty good clip last night and needed to update a track on the blog as part of my progress reporting.

TOOLS - Download track at Media Fire (free obviously)

My equipment is obviously lacking, I have a cheap drum kit with even cheaper cymbals.  It sounds like I’m hitting ductwork or something when I hit the cymbals.  I recorded this track with two microphones, one on the drum kit and one in front of my amp.  The track consists of a two layered guitar loop – the rhythm and a 3 part lead.  I played the Gibson Standard SG through my 212 Peavy Valve King tube amp and used the Dunlop Wah for the last lead part.  I feel my guitar playing is much more accomplished than my drum  abilities.  Being self taught on both I have developed some bad habits, but it’s fun – and that’s what it’s all about.
